Probability assessment of nuclear power plant hazards - the FRG approach
Creators
Description
The hazard is evaluated as follows: 1. determination of primary events, namely accidents which under the given conditions may lead to the release of radioactive materials; 2. analysis of the chain of events which will show the probability of reactor core meltdown; 3. determination of the magnitude and the probability of release of radioactive materials; 4. estimation of consequences of the release; 5. evaluation of hazard. On the basis of data on the probability and consequences of accidents an evaluation is then made of the general hazard of the nuclear power plant. The results of the individual stages of the analysis are given. (J.B.)
