FBR type reactor

Description

Purpose: To decrease the convection region of cover gases, thereby prevent the thermal stress in the shielding plug. Constitution: Circular plates are disposed in the annular space formed between a reactor container and a shielding plug in a plurality of stages vertically. Each of the circular plates is corrugated such that each corrugation has a pitch ranging 1/0.4 to 1/2 times the distance between each of the adjacent circular plates. Thus, since cover gases form a pair of convection streams per one corrugation on every space between the circular plate, the velocity of the convection can be lowered. Accordingly, the temperature distribution in the circumferential direction of the shielding plug can be made substantially uniform to maintain the reactor soundness. (Kamimura, M.)
