The EMC effect - with emphasis on conventional nuclear corrections

  • 1. Adelaide Univ. (Australia). Dept. of Physics

Description

We discuss the present status of our understanding of the EMC effect. This includes a brief introduction to deep-inelastic scattering and the present state of our experimental knowledge. While most theoretical approaches are discussed, the emphasis is on attempts to include corrections which arise naturally in conventional nuclear models. These include Fermi motion, binding and contributions from meson-exchange currents. (author)
