Reheated intergalactic gas and the polarization and anisotropy of the microwave background including Comptonization effects
Description
Analytic expressions are obtained for the dependence of the polarization and the quadrupole component of the microwave background on frequency, and on the optical depth and temperature of a reheated intergalactic gas in an axisymmetric Bianchi type I Universe. It is shown that Comptonization effects on the polarization and quadrupole component can become important for gas temperatures > 107 to 108 K. (author)
