Technological features of remote assembling of californium-252 miniature neutron sources

Description

Constructions of californium-252 neutron radiation sources from the viewpoint of their remote assembling are analyzed. It is shown that for realizing intrachamber transport technology of source assembling elements special facility-supports are required. These facilities prevent assembling elements from mechanical damages, they permit to shift elements by manipulators and also perform other functions. The flowsheets of the technological process of sources assembling, methods of their sealing and testing are given. On the basis of the analysis of the existing technology of californium sources assembling the conclusion is drawn on subsequent improvement of the technologic process of assembling in the direction of complex automation
