Crystallization of metal-metalloid glasses under laser heating
- 1. Zaporozhye State Univ. (Ukraine)
Description
There are several publications describing crystallization processes in metallic glasses. The processes of crystal growth, of metastable crystalline phases formation and decomposition etc., were studied either under isothermal annealing at a fixed temperature or at low heating rates. Studying these processes at high and super high heating and quenching rates of metallic glasses will lead to a complete comprehension of both crystallization and amorphization processes. However, there aren't enough studies devoted to such investigations. The aim of this work is to study the characteristic properties of the crystallization process in metallic glasses based on transition metals (Fe and Co) under laser heating of the surface and compare the findings with results of thermal annealing studies
