On crystal structures of Na2ZnSiO4 and Na2BeSiO4

Description
The crystal structures of the title compounds determined by x-ray diffraction were refined. The Na2ZnSiO4 and Na2BeSiO4 compounds were refined to R-values of 3.5 and 4.2%, respectively. The crystals are monoclinic, space groups Pn and P21/c, with a 5.248 and 4.960, b 7.025 and 7.022, c 5.445 and 9.993, respecitvely, and γ 89.77 (Zn-compound) and α 90.030 (Be compound). The structures consist of tetrahedrons with O and are similar to the structure of ZnO. The Na ions are distributed between the layers
