Medical tomography: morphological imaging and functional imaging

Creators

Description

The first part of this book is devoted to morphological imaging and deals successively with X-ray tomography, three-dimensional radiology, and NMR tomography. The second part treats of the different aspects of functional imaging such as single-photon emission tomography, positon emission tomography, NMR brain functional tomography and electrical activity tomography in magneto- and electro-encephalography. The physical, physiological and technological principles necessary for the acquisition of measurements, for the creation of contrasts and for the distribution of the directions of acquisition are described. These strategies of acquisition lead to the direct problem of measurements description. The algorithms of reconstruction are not detailed in this book. (J.S.)
