Report on the 3rd regular inspection of (ATR) Fugen Power Station

The 3rd regular inspection of the advanced thermal reactor Fugen Power Station (electric output 165 MW) was made from September 24, 1982, to February 17, 1983. The inspection was made on the reactor proper, reactor cooling system, instrumentation and control system, etc. In addition to the normal inspection, maintenance, etc., the following improvement and alteration works were done: the replacement of pipes in reactor recirculation and reactor coolant purification systems as the stress corrosion cracking countermeasure, the high frequency heating treatment of the pipes in high- and low pressure water injection systems and residual heat removal system, the improvement of the heat exchangers in shield-cooling system, the replacement of pipes with in-grain corrosion in high pressure water injection system. Collective exposure dose during the regular inspection was about 660 man-rem. (Mori, K.)
