Measurement of technetium emission lines by inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometry

Description

For detection or determination of technetium by inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometry (ICP/AES), its emission lines are measured in the wavelengths range from 160 to 460nm. Most of intense lines are observed in an ultra violet wavelength region : between 230 and 280nm. But no intense line is observed in a vacuum ultra violet region. Relative intensities of the intense lines are presented. They are similar to those of spark emission lines. The strongest emission line has wavelength 254.32nm. Detection limit defined as three times the standard deviation of ten measurements of blank solution is 2ng ml-1. Interference of foreign elements on three of the most intense emission lines, 254.32, 261.00 and 264.70nm, are measured for 32 elements. (author)
