A threshold theorem on π-hadron and π-nucleus scattering

Description

A threshold theorem previously discussed by Oleson and Pietschmann on rrN scattering is extended to rrhadron scattering in general, including rr-rr scattering. We recover in a comprehensive manner the rr-hadron and rrrr scattering lengths obtained previously by the PCAC technique. The method to obtain the threshold theorem is also applied to rr-nucleus systems: We derive a new sum rule on the rr-nucleus scattering length and a relation between the rr,nucleus effective coupling constant and the rr-N coupling const?nt.
