Narrow pair correlations and bound-state production in the model of single-particle sources

  • 1. Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (USSR)

Description

Processes of two-particle bound-state production and the structure of narrow pair correlations of interacting particles in a continuous energy spectrum are analyzed on the basis of a unified approach. The single-particle source model is used to obtain the quantum-mechanical expressions describing the dependence of the probability for deuteron production in hadron collisions with nuclei on the space-time dimensions of the nucleon generation region and the parameters of low-energy triplet neutron-proton scattering. The coalescence coefficient is calculated for a spherically symmetric Gaussian source distribution and also for a nucleon generation region in the form of a narrow ''tube'' along the trajectory of the primary hadron in nuclear matter
