Collisional ionization of rubidium excited states

Description
A mass analysis of ions formed in a Rb cell where 5p and more excited s or d states are created by lasers has shown that besides associative ionization by collision of the s or d level with a ground atom Penning ionization by collision between excited and 5p atoms play an important role. (Author)
