Fuel assembly for nuclear reactors and method of fabrication
Description
The nuclear reactor fuel assembly described includes an envelope for channeling the cooling fluid that flows through the reactor. Several elongated fuel rods are placed side by side and arranged inside this envelope so as to form a parallel network with a triangular configuration. These fuel rods have solid spacing wires coiled around them and fixed to them so as to maintain them at preset distances, thereby forming flow channels for the fluid between the fuel rods and inside the fuel assembly. The solid spacing wires of the external fuel rods are flattened in the areas adjacent to the envelope, so as to reduce the cross section area of the fluid flow channels formed between the adjacent external fuel rods and the envelope. On presente un assemblage combustible pour un reacteur nucleaire comportant une enveloppe de canalisation du fluide de refroidissement du reacteur qui le traverse. Plusieurs barres de combustible allongees sont placees cote a cote et disposees a l'interieur de cette enveloppe de maniere a former un reseau parallele a configuration triangulaire. Ces barres de combustible presentent des fils d'espacement pleins bobines autour d'elles et fixes sur elles en vue de les maintenir a des distances predeterminees, constituant ainsi des canaux de circulation du fluide entre les barres de combustible et a l'interieur de l'assemblage combustible. Les fils d'espacement pleins des barres de combustible externes sont aplatis dans les zones adjacentes a l'enveloppe, de maniere a reduire la surface des sections des canaux de circulation du fluide constitues entre les barres de combustible externes adjacentes et l'enveloppe.
