Inhibition of acid corrosion of iron by gamma radiated 2-mercaptobenzymidazole

Description
Properties of 2-mercaptobenzymidazole (2-MCBI) as inhibitor of ST3 steel corrosion in hydrochloric acid after its preirradiation at 60Co γ-source in the range of absorbed doses from 0.25 to 50 MGy are studied. The data obtained make it possible to suppose that under γ-radiation effect -SH-group separates from molecule that results in free sulfur formation in 2-MCBI irradiated solution
