Findings on WWER-1000 core control and protection

Creators

  • 1. International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna (Austria)

Description

Findings were compiled on core design (fuel assembly, burnable absorbers, control rods service lifetime, control rods insertion reliability, part-length control rods, refuelling scheme, fuel loading pattern), core monitoring (shutdown margin monitoring, in-core rhodium detectors, power distribution monitoring, core level indication), core control (core control strategy, control rods for temperature control, control rod grouping and overlap, control rod position indication, automated core power distribution control system) and core protection (DNB protection, linear power density limits, overpower ΔT and overtemperature ΔT, low coolant flow protection, high water level protection, adequacy of current protection signals and setpoints). A list of the sources from which the findings were compiled is given
