The activity of research in CSN

Based on one of the lawfully assigned functions to CSN, it is developed by promoting programs and participating directly in them. Its main goal is to acquire knowledge and to obtain methods needed for the adequate licensing and control of the spanish nuclear and radioactive installations. This is carried out seeking to extend the provision of new knowledge and tools to licensees and supporting technological capacity in research centers and universities. International cooperation establishes a solid base in order to update the state of art. Fore sights related to these tasks are molded in a Research Plan followed and periodically revised by a Research and Technological Policy Commission acting in accordance with the strategic orientations of the Regulatory Body.
