Welding technique effect on reliability of welded joints in power equipment

Description
The trends in the field of welded joints for power units are determined. It is shown that transition to electroslag welding and hard surfacing permits the number of defects to be reduced by 2-3 times as compared with arc welding methods. For high-precision assemblies an electron-beam welding is favourable. Emphasis is placed on the quality of welding materials: electrodes, fluxes, shielding gases
