Determination of tributyl phosphate (TBP) by precision densimetry : TBP-varsol-HNO3 system

Description
A simple and rapid method for TBP direct determination is presented, based on precision densimetry, aiming to control solvent concentration in the TBP-Varsol system during the reprocessing of irradiated uranium. The method comprises the determination of the density of liquids or gases by electronic measurement of the variation in the frequency (f) or period (T = 1/f) of a glass oscillator containing the liquid or the gas. Apresenta-se um metodo simples e rapido para determinacao direta de TBP, por densimetria de pressao, visando o controle da concentracao do solvente nos sistemas TBP-Varsol durante o processo de tratamento de uranio irradiado. Este metodo baseia-se na determinacao da densidade de liquidos ou gases pela medida eletronica da variacao da frequencia natural (f) ou periodo (T = 1/f) de um oscilador de vidro contendo o liquido ou o gas.
