Description
A charge particle time-of-flight spectrometer with high-resolution detector PIPS has been designed and employed to separate completely the α particles from strong scattering protons for P-11B reaction. The Monte Carlo calculations show the α spectra of the symmetrical saddle-type distribution obtained from the experiment can be interpreted by anisotropy sequential decay process of the intermediate nucleus 8Be for P-11B reaction. Angular distributions and total cross sections for the 11B(p, α)8Be(2α) reaction have been measured for Ep energies at 667 Kev and 1370 Kev, respectively
