On solidification kinetics of bath in pulsed arc welding of sheet materials
Description
The kinetics is studied of solidification of the molten pool in pulsation arc welding of thin-layer materials from steel FhI835. Mathematical model is obtained relating the solidification parameters with those of the welding regime. The wide possibilities are shown for controlling the solidification of molten metal by varying the welding parameters. The qualitative relationship is established between the parameters of the solidifcation process and some geometrical dimensions of the molten pool and the size of the arc (its length for the tail end, and the seam width and arc current for the head end)
