Development of a mammographic dosimetric card
- 1. Centro Regional de Ciencias Nucleares (CRCN), Recife, PE (Brazil)
Description
Patient dose at skin entrance in mammography is a major parameter to be evaluated in an accreditation program. In this work a Mammographic Dosimetric Card was developed which uses two thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLD LiF-100). To measure the dose at skin entrance the dosimetric card has to be exposed on a standard mammography phantom. The results of linearity and reproducibility presented maximum variation less than 10%. This dosimetric card will be used in the Mammography Accreditation Program of the Brazilian College of Radiology to measure dose at skin entrance in patients undergoing mammography in the facilities applying to accreditation.
