Description
An almost complete picture of current work and results in Europe in the field of fusion technology was presented in the papers given at the 15th Symposium on Fusion Technology (held in Utrecht, The Netherlands, 19-23 September, 1988) and reported on by this paper. Various existing and proposed experimental systems were reported. Plasma heating and equilibrium received the largest number of papers. Many other topics, including fuel cycle engineering, first wall and vacuum technology, materials, blanket technology, tritium systems engineering, remote operation and maintenance, magnetic engineering and power supply technology, reliability, availability, quality assurance, data acquisition and control, reactor studies, safety, and environmental aspects were covered in the paper given. 2 tabs
