Process for the separation of different chemical species, particularly isotopes
Description
A description is given of a process to separate at least two chemical species contained in a vapour. It includes the irradiation of the vapour so that one of the species selected is excited electronically. The irradiation is made with a clearly defined spectral part that excites the selected species to a high vibrational level and a part intended for the electronic elevation of the energy level, of the species selected, of its high vibrational state to a high electronic state in which the electronic charges are separated. The vapour forms a virtually saturated atmosphere which is practically not a solvent for one species or the other in combined form, so that the selected species forms the condensable vapour nucleation sites and its precipitates selectively
