Application possibilities of the RA research reactor

Description

Technical characteristics of the RA reactor enable the following applications as similar reactors of Russian origin in eastern Europe: fundamental and applied sciences (material sciences, solid state physics, reactor physics, radiation chemistry, activation analysis, neutron and gamma radiography); commercial applications (isotope production, microelectronics, neutron therapy, calibration of measuring instruments); training of the staff and education of students. The mentioned reactors which could be compared to the RA reactor, were started operation in the same as RA reactor. (between 1957 and 1961) In the second part of eighties reconstruction and renewal actions of these reactors were started with governmental financial support and with the help of IAEA. It is expected that they will be restarted soon

Tehnicke karakteristike reaktora RA kao i opremljenost omogucavaju sledece primene kao i slicni reaktori Sojetske proizvodnje u istocnoj Evropi: fundamentalna i primenjena istrazivanja (nauka o materijalima, fizika cvrsto stanja, reaktorska fizika, radijaciona hemija, aktivaciona analiza, neutronska i gama radiografija); komercijalna primena (proizvodnja izotopa, mikroleektronika, neutronska terapija, kalibracija mernih uredjaja); obuka kadrova i obrazovanje. Pomenuti reaktori sa kojima se reaktor RA moze porediti pusteni su u rad u isto vreme kada i RA, i u drugoj polovini osamdesetih godina zapoceta je rekonstrukcija i modernizacija uz finansijsku podrsku drzavnih organa i uz pomoc MAAE. Ocekuje se da ovi rektori sukoro nastave sa radom
