Diffusion of heat from a finite, rectangular, plane heat source

Description
Non-dimensional results for the temperature field originating in a rectangular, finite, plane heat source with infinitesimal thickness are introduced. The source decays in time, zero decay being a particular case. Results are useful for obtaining an aproximation of the maximum temperature of a system holding an internal heat source. The range selected for the parameters is specially useful in the case of a nuclear waste repository. The application to the case of mass diffussion arises from analogy. (Author)

Se presentan resultados adimensionales para el campo de temperatura originado por una fuente plana, de planta rectangular de dimensiones finitas y de espesor infinitesimal. La fuente decae en el tiempo en forma exponencial, siendo el caso de fuente constante un caso particular. Los resultados son utiles para obtener una aproximacion de la temperatura maxima de un sistema que tiene una fuente interna y el rango elegido para los parametros es especialmente util en el caso de un repositorio de residuos radiactivos. La extension al caso de difusion de masa se hace por analogia. (Autor)Files
