Technetium-99 distribution in Pacific ocean
Creators
Description
The 99mTc content in seawater samples was determined through the mass-spectrometer with inductively bound plasma. The 95mTc, used as a tracer, was obtained on the cyclotron by the 93Nb(α, 2n)95mTc reaction. The 99Tc output wa controlled gamma-spectrometrically by 95mTc. It is shown presence of 95mTc in the sample doesn't interfere with determination of 99Tc on the above mass-spectrometer,. The technetium content in the seawater determined mass-spectrometrically constitutes several μBq/l, which is by one order less as compared to the previously published values, obtained with application of β-radiometry
