Characteristics of volcanic rock geochemistry and relationship with uranium mineralization in the Daqingshan basin, Manchuria, Inner Mongolia

  • 1. Beijing Research Institute of Uranium Geology, Beijing (China)

Description

The geochemical characteristics of volcanic rocks in Mesozoic Daqingshan show high SiO2, K2O and LILE, and low CaO, Mgo and HFSE, which belong to the calc-alkaline series, supersaturated total REE enrichment. The rocks originated from mantle wedge, and attributed to the crustal contamination during the magmas. The Mesozoic volcanic rocks experienced from tensional to shear-compression background, resulting in the decompression melting of the pre-existent metasomatized lithosphere mantle. Based on petrochemical characteristics and uranium mineralization, the Mesozoic volcanic rocks are similar with the adjacent, which present the final progress in volcanic rock-type uranium prospecting in this area.
