Description
AHWR fuel containing 233U can only be handled remotely behind heavy shielding in hot cells. A first of its kind mock up facility is being developed to demonstrate all aspects of fuel fabrication, automatically and remotely. Processing, inspections and handling of pellets, pins and cluster will be demonstrated. This paper describes the recently developed mock-up facility for automated fabrication, inspection and handling of the fuel pin. (author)
