MAKR-4 - a Moessbauer resonance analyzer of cassiterite

  • 1. Soyuznyj Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Priborostroeniya, Moscow (USSR)

Description

Portable Moessbauer resonance analyzer MAKR-4 designed for field analysis of cassiterite is described and its basic technical parameters are given. Some experimental results are presented. In investigating powder samples the Moessbauer backscattering analyzer permits determining cassiterite concentrations of 0.01 to 40 % and in investigating rocks in natural deposits of 0.02 to 40 % with an error of 35 to 3 %. The analyzer may be used in studying the Rayleigh scattering of resonance gamma radiation by bound electrons of polycrystalline and amorphous material atoms. (Z.S.)
