Description
Activity determination of 99Tc in high radioactive liquid waste (HAW) and its separation process by extraction-liquid scintillation counting method is described. In 1 mol/L H2SO4 system, 99Tc of the sample can be quantitatively extracted by 100% cyclohexanone, U, Np, Pu, Am, Sr, Cs, Ru, I2 and rare earth elements are separated after the organic phase is wasted by K2CO3-H2O2 and NaNO2 solution. The organic solution is mixed with scintillation cocktail and measured using Packard 2200 CA liquid scintillation analyzer. The influence of quenching has been examined and the activity of 99Tc is obtained by efficiency tracing method. The determination limit of the method is 13 Bq/mL, the recovery of the method is higher than 94% and the precision is about 5%, which are satisfactory
