Safety and performance of structures affected by the phenomenon of sub-coating defects

Description
The consequences of the sub-coating defects detected in 1978 on some steam generators and tanks are weighed up particularly as regards how the equipment affected by such defects fulfils its function from the safety point of view. Special attention is paid on the case of tank piping, and the potential development of defects. The results of experimental checks done show that the safety of the plants concerned would not be affected by these defects, even in the most pessimistic hypotheses

On evalue les consequences des defauts sous revetement -decouverts en 1978 sur certains generateurs de vapeur et cuves- plus particulierement du point de vue de la capacite des equipements affectes par ces defauts a remplir leur fonction de surete. On s'attache essentiellement au cas des tubulures de cuve en analysant l'evolution potentielle des defauts, en presentant les resultats des verifications experimentales et en montrant que la surete des installations considerees ne saurait etre affectee par ces defauts, meme dans les hypotheses les plus pessimistesAdditional details
