Test of the standard model of electroweak interactions at TRISTAN
Description
We present the new results of electroweak interactions of leptons and hadrons from the TRISTAN e+e- collider. Three major detectors, TOPAZ,AMY and VENUS, accumulated data of about 12 pb-1 each in the energy range from √s = 50 GeV to 56 GeV in the first year of experiments. We clearly observed a rise in total hadronic cross section due to Z0 and large charge asymmetries in μ+μ-, τ+τ- production. From a combined analysis of our new data with the previous PEP,PETRA data, we obtained sin2θw = 0.230 (+0.027 -0.020) and Mz = 89.8 ±2.0 GeV. Studies were also made on possible compositeness scales for electrons and search for sequential heavy leptons
