Reactive forms of oxygen on surfaces of rare earth oxides in low-temperature reactions of catalytic oxidation
- 1. Moskovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (USSR). Kafedra Fizicheskoj Khimii
Description
With the aid of infrared spectroscopy and thermodesorption methods the mechanism of low-temperature catalytic oxidation of propylene, carbon oxide and ammonia with the participation of hydrogen molecules on the surface of oxides of rare earths (Y, Eu) has been investigated. The formation of intermediate superoxide ions O2- has been found to take place in the reactions of low-temperature oxidation of a number of molecules and the possibility of their direct participation in oxidation reactions under mild conditions is shown
