Performance studies of the monitored drift-tube chambers of the ATLAS muon spectrometer

  • 1. Laboratori Nazionali dell'INFN, Frascati (Italy) and CERN Physics Department, Geneva 231211 (Switzerland)

Description

Recent results on experimental tests of the Monitored Drift Tube (MDT) chambers of the ATLAS muon spectrometer are reported. These include mechanical certification, performance studies in a high photon-background environment and results from the large-scale test of the ATLAS muon spectrometer at the CERN North Area on the H8 beam line. These results confirm that the MDT chambers are performing as expected and meet the requirements of the ATLAS muon spectrometer
