A study on breaking-down of symmetry property in a natural convective heat transfer

  • 1. Halla Univ., Wonju (Korea, Republic of)

Description

A study on breaking-down of symmetry property is made of a natural convection between two vertical walls with the same sinusoidal temperature variation. Mathematical formulations, which are expressed as a degenerating system of equation, on the flow and temperature are given. By securing the solution of linear leading-order-equation, it showed that breaking-down of symmetry property of the flow and temperature fields, occurring under the symmetric thermal boundary condition, is closely related to exciting of antisymmetric natural mode of the system
