Studies on free radicals produced by mechanic and induced by radiation in wood

Description

The g0 = 2.0193 free radicals are produced in saw dust when wood is mechanically processed. When the saw dust is irradiated by 60Co gamma-rays the major spectrum for the free radicals will be strengthened and other four new free radicals will be accompanied with it. According to observation result from mechanic free radicals of 21 tree species in Fujian Province, the intensity of free radicals induced by radiation will exponentially increase along with the radiation dose increasing, and finally it will go to the saturation state. The intensity of free radicals produced by mechanic or induced by 60Co radiation is dependent on tree species.
