An empirical formula for the impact excitation coefficient of xenon-filled scintillation counters

Description
The dependence of the light output of a xenon-filled proportional scintillation counter on the electric field intensity and on the pressure of xenon has been investigated. An empirical formula for the impact excitation coefficient has been suggested. (orig.)
