Chest computed tomography in infants and children
Description
Chest computed tomography (CT) scans were performed in 50 pediatric patients. The techniques and inherent problems are presented. CT provides detailed anatomic information about the chest wall, mediastinum, and lungs. Pediatric chest CT is particularly valuable in the evaluation of extrapleural masses, parenchymal metastatic disease, and posterior mediastinal tumors. (orig.)

Computertomogramme der Brust wurden an 50 paediatrischen Patienten aufgenommen. Verfahren und inhaerente Probleme werden vorgestellt. Das CT-Verfahren liefert genaue anatomische Informationen ueber Brustwand, Mediastinum und Lunge und ist besonders geeignet zur Beurteilung von extrapleuralen Massen, parenchymalen metastatischen Erkrankungen und Tumoren an der Rueckwand des Mediastinums.
