Co-development of a citizen-based renewable energy project: how to conciliate private and territorial interests? - Synthesis note, May 2022. Return on experience of co-development: Energy of Saint-Vincent, Ichy (Seine-et-Marne); Biogas of marches of Brittany, Maen Roch (Loire-Atlantique); The Avessac wind farm (Loire-Atlantique)

This publication first outlines the interest of project of renewable energy for a territorial co-development, indicates ingredients of a successful territorial co-development, how to create and capture value in renewable energy projects, and how to distribute roles in co-development, and presents examples of funding of co-development projects. Three returns on experience of co-development projects are then presented: a set of 5 wind turbines in Seine-et-Marne, a methanization unit with injection into the gas network in Loire-Atlantique, and a project of five wind turbines in Loire-Atlantique. For each project, different aspects are presented or discussed: actors, group dynamics, interests, abilities and roles, chronology, value distribution, co-development contracting, capital distribution, governance, factors of success, vigilance points, good practices in partnership
