Radiation protection measurement engineering: Current situation and prospects
Description
The current state of the art in measurement engineering is explained referring to certain types of measured equipment fulfilling important tasks in radiation protection, as there are: personal dosemeters, detectors measuring dose rates, contamination levels and air activation levels, as well as systems for radioactive waste monitoring. The limiting values defined for contamination in the Radiation Protection Ordinance, the PTB rules on acceptance for calibration, and the RTA rules for nuclear installations monitoring are stated to have given strong impetus to the development of new devices. Der heutige Stand der Messtechnik wird an einigen Geraetetypen verdeutlicht, die fuer den Strahlenschutz im medizinischen Bereich wichtige Aufgabenfelder abdecken. Dieses sind aktive Personendosimeter, Dosisleistungs-, Kontaminations- und Luftaktivitaetsmessgeraete sowie Messsysteme fuer radioaktiven Abfall. Als treibende Kraefte der Messgeraete-Entwicklung sind die Einfuehrung der Kontaminationsgrenzwerte in der StrlSchVO, die PTB-Regeln fuer die Zulassung zur Eichung und die KTA-Regeln im Bereich der kerntechnischen Ueberwachungssysteme zu betrachten.
