Description

After a presentation of the different regulatory arrangements and texts related to the protection of species and to the development of onshore wind energy projects, this guide comments their different application aspects (principle and measures of avoidance-reduction-compensation, assessment of impacts of wind farms on protected species and their habitats, derogation appraisal, environmental follow-up, administrative and penal measures and sanctions). Appendices address the effect of wind farms on wild flora and fauna, the necessary information to assess wind farm impacts, the process of analysis of an impact study to launch a procedure of derogation request, and propose a list of avoidance-reduction-compensation measures
