Modelling of PWR steam generators
Description
The Steam-Generator is a key-component of the Pressurized Water Reactors. After a short description of the design of PWR Steam Generators, the need for three dimensional thermalhydraulic code is explained. The CAFCA code, validated by in-plant measurements is applied to a design problem (N4 Steam Generator design) and to an experience feedback problem. This code has proven to be a useful and appropriate tool for the design of PWR Steam Generators

Les Generateurs de Vapeur (GV) sont des composants essentiels des reacteurs a eau pressurisee (REP). Apres avoir rappele leur principe de fonctionnement, on explique pourquoi il est important de disposer de codes thermohydrauliques tridimensionnels capables de les modeliser correctement. Le code CAFCA, valide par des essais sur site, est applique a un probleme de conception (GV N4) et a un probleme lie au retour d'experience.
