Absorption of 203Pb from gastrointestinal tract of man
Description
Lead, in the form of its radioisotope 203Pb, was given orally to ten volunteers. The retention of 203Pb was measured over a period of 1 week using a whole body counter. The readings obtained suggested that there may be a large biological variation in the gastrointestinal absorption of lead. The possible reasons for this variation are briefly discussed
