Internal rotation and phase transitions in lanthanum tetrahydrobortes

Description
The methods of 1H, 11B, 139La NMR and NMR relaxation are used to study molecular dynamics in La(BH4)3 and its adduct with tetrahydrofuran La(BH4)3x3 THF. Phase transitions connected with charges in the nature of internal rotation (reorientation) of BH4 anions are found. The barriers of reorientations of BH4 anions and THF molecules in compounds studied are determined. It is shown that the change of THF molecule mobility does not bring about phase transition
