Quadrupole moment of the Ω- hyperon
Description
The electric quadrupole moment of the Ω- hyperon is important because it is determined by tensor forces acting between quarks, and the magnitude of these forces is predicted by quantum chromodynamics. We estimate this quantity on the basis of the nonrelativistic quark model of baryons proposed by Isgur an Karl. A value Q0 = ex2x10-28 cm2 is obtained
