Nuclear industry since its beginning in France - around 1977 with the first constructions of nuclear power plants - has always been a partner for the economic development of French regions. Nuclear industry, in all the nuclear chain from nuclear fuel fabrication to nuclear power generation via spent fuel reprocessing, generates 7% of industrial jobs in France. Nuclear power is a key asset for the de-carbonation of all other industrial sectors because it supplies very low carbon electricity. Nuclear industry provides nuclear medicine with radionuclides used in radiotherapy centers dispatched all over the country.
