Nuclear power and territories in 6 points

Description

Nuclear industry since its beginning in France - around 1977 with the first constructions of nuclear power plants - has always been a partner for the economic development of French regions. Nuclear industry, in all the nuclear chain from nuclear fuel fabrication to nuclear power generation via spent fuel reprocessing, generates 7% of industrial jobs in France. Nuclear power is a key asset for the de-carbonation of all other industrial sectors because it supplies very low carbon electricity. Nuclear industry provides nuclear medicine with radionuclides used in radiotherapy centers dispatched all over the country. Nuclear power also contributes to the competitiveness of French industry because of its low cost. (A.C.)
