A contribution for cost's study of small brazilian hydro power plants

Description

In the project of Small Hydro Power Plants (SHPP) it is essential to know in advance an estimated cost of the structures and equipment. In this paper, the equations for these costs are presented. They were obtained from data taken from twenty projects that followed the Handbook of Small Hydroelectric Plants, published by ELETROBRAS and DNAEE (Brazil). A critical comparative analysis between the proposed method and the CEHPAR (Hydraulics and Hydrology Center Prof. Parigot de Souza) procedure is carried out, and a combined use of both methods is recommended.
