What status for energy intensive industries in Europe?
- 1. Gide Loyrette Nouel Paris Droit public, (France)
Description
Subjected to strong international competition, companies in the European Union that are heavy consumers of gas and electricity do have some supportive measures. As shown by a recent survey of 5 countries - Germany, Spain, France, Italy and Portugal - provisions vary considerably among them. The Brussels Commission has just put in place guidelines on these supports and on their compatibility with competition regulations. (authors)
