Characteristics of optical waveguides formed in LiNbO3 by He+ implantation
Creators

Description
This paper outlines the waveguide structures obtained by He+ ion implantation into LiNbO3 and the characteristics of interest, i.e. number of modes, modal attenuation and effective waveguide refractive index (modal propagation constant). The effects of ion energy, ion dose and material orientation are shown to affect the characteristics of the resultant devices so that waveguides with predictable properties may be fabricated.
